Sunday School Mission 2018:  Huch’uy Runa

Huch'uy RunaWho does this mission serve?
Huch’uy Runa is a school providing physical, mental, academic and trade education to street children of Cusco, Peru. In Summer of 2019, Normandale hopes to travel to this school for a mission trip.

When will we collect this offering?
The Sunday school mission offering will be collected in a “Noisy Offering” style on Sundays during the doxology. We are excited to have the children participate in the service by cheerfully giving what they are able! In addition, offering collection will take place during Sunday school every week. Look for children to bring home noisy offering banks where they can fill with coins to make noise during the service!

Connect/Learn/Give!
Sunday school children will be “partnered” with a child from Peru! Fill out the “all about me” sheet at the start of Sunday school. We will receive information about the children from Peru in return and your family can pray for the children! During Sunday school your children will learn Spanish phrases to include in their prayers!

You might have heard of YouTube, but what about PeruTube?
Once a month in Sunday school your children will watch a short PeruTube video to learn more about the Inca civilization of Cusco Peru, the children of Huch’uy Runa and this important mission to serve these children! They won’t want to miss the fun PeruTube videos created by our very own Normandale Youth!

Our goal is to raise $5000 this year to support this mission!

Faith Markers

Faith Markers are a once a year class designed for parents and their children as we fulfill promises made at baptism and walk in our faith journey together. One Sunday per year, a Faith Marker replaces your child’s regular Sunday School class time at 10:00 am and includes worship participation.

Parents and children receive detailed invitations to their annual Faith Marker approximately two weeks ahead of event.
