Luther’s Treatise on Freedom of the Christian
February 7 – March 7
led by Dr. Steven Paulson, professor of Systematic Theology at Luther Seminary.
During February, at 9:45 am between services each Sunday, The Orchard is pleased to welcome back Dr. Steven Paulson, professor of systematic theology at Luther Seminary. He started on February 7 in a five-week series on the issue of free will for the Christian as articulated by Martin Luther in his great treatise, The Freedom of the Christian.
The reformers struggled mightily with the question of what role does the believer’s will play in the Christian walk. This is certainly an issue that remains with us today and about which there is much confusion. So this series will deal with a key issue for all of us.
Dr. Paulson has led a number of past Orchard series including a study of Luther’s Large Catechism and two five-week series on Law and Gospel, both of which are foundational to our faith. We look forward to a provocative and stimulating series with Dr Paulson. Come, join us in this journey of discovery led by an outstanding teacher and theologian who will focus on relevant scripture, Luther’s thinking about this important part of the Christian walk and how his views can illuminate our daily walk.

New Testament Study of Galatians

Led by Matt Skinner, Professor of New Testament, Luther Seminary
Galatians is one of the most important of Paul’s letters. This book was one of Martin Luther’s favorites. To quote him: “The Epistle to the Galatians is my epistle to which I have wedded myself.” Dr. Skinner intends to lead us in a provocative and stimulating study of the text in this letter of Paul beginning, Sunday, October 25.
All are invited to make Sunday mornings between services The Orchard time to grow in your faith through the study of God’s Word.
