Service Opportunities
Reading Buddies
Reading Buddies is a service opportunity for 7th-12th grade students.
Participants have the opportunity to read, eat and play with the children of Normandale House in Minneapolis. If you are interested in participating, we ask that you commit to participating at least once a month.
We will meet throughout the school year. Weather is a factor and Reading Buddies will cancel if weather is bad. (We transport the kids from Normandale House to Normandale Church and the safety of the kids is priority #1.)
Notes: Meals are provided at every Reading Buddies

Border Immersion 2012
9th to 12th Grade Summer Mission Trip, El Paso, Texas - June 23-30, 2012
Step out of your everyday life -- out of your comfort zone -- and into in-depth, experiential learning and cultural immersion. The Border Immersion Experience is an opportunity to learn about the issues that affect lives of people living on the border.
OUR GROUP WILL NOT TRAVEL INTO JUAREZ.
The program includes:
- Worship at Cristo Rey
- Fellowship with the Cristo Rey Community
- Personal Accounts of Border Life
- Exposure to Mexican & Mexican-American Culture
- Tours of ‘Colonias’ in El Paso
- Presentation from People in Social Justice Ministries
- Bible Studies
- Daily Processing
- Work on Service-Oriented Tasks, If Available
