Dear Parents:
We are so glad you are interested in signing your child to have a blast discovering Jesus’ miraculous power. This VBS program will help your child fizzle with love for Jesus.
You’ll notice that things at Power Lab are…well, a little different than you might be used to. For one thing, elementary kids will be in mixed-age groups with other children who are entering grades one through five. These small groups, called Lab Crews, are led by adults. Preschoolers will be in mixed-age groups, with children entering preschool two and kindergarten, also lead by adults. Combining age groups has numerous benefits: teaching children to work together, experiencing what it means to be a family, and serving others in love. While a child may not have their closest friend in their crew, their friends may be in another one of the several crews that travel together as a group between stations.
Our program starts promptly at 9:00 am every day. Children will meet their Crew Leaders at 8:55 am (elementary children in Valley View Gym, preschool children in Fellowship Hall). We invite parents to join us every day for our closing program—Faith Fusion Finale, complete with a powerpoint presentation featuring a different group of children every day—that begins at 11:35 am in Valley View Gym.
Each day, children will be able to apply what they learned about Jesus’ love with a daily challenge of their choice.
We invite all VBS students and families to 10:00 am worship at Normandale on June 22 where the Pastors will bless and commission all the participants. All areas will be open for guided tours. Families may check crew assignments, purchase tickets for the picnic, and buy VBS DVDs and videos. New this year: the entire Chadder Theater collection!
Please join us for a science-themed picnic on Thursday night, June 26 at 6:00 pm. Great food, great entertainment, great fellowship. Shine or Rain. Cost: $7 per adult, $3 per child under 12, or $20 per family. This is a time to rekindle old friendships and make new friendships as we celebrate our summer camping at VBS and Camp Wapo.
