Normandale Nursery
REGISTRATION
Parents must register their children for the programs in which they plan to be involved. This registration makes it possible for children’s ministry staff to keep accurate records and to have all of their important information in case of emergency. Also, registration makes it possible to keep up-to-date mailing lists for informing parents about upcoming activities.
CHECK-IN AND OUT
When you check your child into the nursery, you will have to sign in on the registration sheet. Please bring a LABELED diaper, bottle, pacifier, or other comfort item with your child.
TRANSITION TIMES
Transitions are hard for children as well as volunteers. Children do best if they have some time in the classroom to feel calm without all of the coming and going of people. Please be sensitive to your child’s needs in this area.
SICK CHILDREN
To keep the children and volunteers healthy children will not be permitted if they have experienced any of the following symptoms within the past 24 hours: Fever, chicken pox, pink eye (Conjunctivitis), discharge from eyes, ears or nose, vomiting or diarrhea, any rash (except diaper), persistent coughing or bringing up phlegm, diagnosed with/or being treated for a communicable disease.
RATIOS
For the safety of everyone involved, we have specific ratios and space requirements according to the developmental needs of the children. For infants, the ratio is 3:1; for young walkers, the ratio is 4:1; and for toddlers, the ratio is 7:1.
HELP YOUR CHILD GET THE MOST OUT OF CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS
We would like to provide some helpful tips that will enable your child to have a great experience at Normandale. Be involved. Use your spiritual gifts to help nurture your child’s spiritual growth. Be consistent. It is important that children see familiar faces each time they come to their class. Our different programs consist of different curriculum, teachers, and children which students may not be familiar with if they do not attend regularly. Become familiar. Get to know your child’s teacher(s) and helpers. It is our hope that you and your child will build a significant relationship with your child’s teacher. We hope that you will feel comfortable working with him/her as you both strive to help your child grow in his/her relationship with Jesus. Ask your child about their friends in their class and provide opportunities for them to get together. Be on time. Due to the program schedule, it is important that children are checked-in and ready to participate on time. We have many fun and exciting activities planned and we want each child to have the opportunity to participate fully.
The program runs Sundays 8:15am to noon and during special events. To find out if your event is covered please contact Tobi at 952-929-1697 ext. 28. Or e-mail her at tobi@normluth.org
