Women’s Wednesday Bible Study (WWBS)
Wednesdays, September 4, 2019 - May 7, 2020 | 9:30-11:00 am, Room 209
Wednesday Women’s Bible Study (“WWBS”) will study the Book of Romans in 2019-20.

WWBS welcomes women of all ages to join us for bible study this fall! We begin on September 4, 2019, when we will meet and have fellowship with our new leader, Pastor Rebecca Gamble, and hear a brief overview of the book of Acts as preparation for our weekly journey through the book of Romans. The schedule (in the form of a bookmark) is available at the church.
- Overarching Theme of Romans: the righteousness that comes from God; the glorious truth that God justifies guilty, condemned sinners by grace alone through faith in Christ alone.
- Free from Fear and Transformed Lives: in Christ alone, our sins have been forgiven, we are free from fear, as there is no condemnation. We do not stand before God alone, but with the righteousness of Christ himself. Martin Luther was transformed by Paul’s epistle and he stated Romans 1:17 became the gateway to heaven for him. Lives are transformed today from the same writings as we cannot be separated from His love.
- Nothing Can Separate Us From the Love of Christ: if God is for us, who can be against us? God cannot fail us. God gave His Son to die for us. Nothing, no one, nor anything else in creation can separate us from the Love of Christ.
- Salvation: the law and the Prophets testify to the salvation that comes through faith alone. It is the faith in Christ that saves.
Come, hear, learn, and have fun! Bring your Bible! Study Guides will be available for $8 per copy.
Professor Craig Koester (Luther Seminary) has been teaching a course called Genesis to Revelation for years. Lay students and seminarians enjoy this chronological overview of scripture. His free audio podcasts highlight reoccurring themes, build connections between books and his passion is contagious. If you are new to bible study or this part of scripture, consider beginning here: http://www2.luthersem.edu/ckoester/gen_to_rev_audio.asp.
Luther Seminary has created a valuable online resource called Enter the Bible. This database is filled with searchable history, summaries and visuals that help you dive into scripture with deeper context and clarity. http://www.enterthebible.org.
