The Center for Healing & Wholeness (the Center) at Normandale Lutheran Church “walks with” older adults in transition and their family caregivers to support health in spirit, mind, and body. The Center offers holistic services and collaborative programming to help seniors age in place and make difficult transitions. Services are offered to strengthen and maintain connections with communities, alleviate isolation, maintain and improve health, extend independence, and enhance quality of life.

Founded in 1998 as an outreach mission of Normandale Lutheran Church, the Center served over 500 seniors and family members within the congregation and the broader community last year, including individuals residing in Edina, Eden Prairie, Minneapolis, Bloomington, Richfield and the surrounding Southwest suburban metropolitan area. The Center expands its capacity through direct service partnerships with over a dozen community-based nonprofits and partners serving seniors and caregivers in the broader Twin Cities.

Services provided include: trained volunteers in the form of companions and friendly visitors providing support in the home; healthy aging health education and wellness classes; social work, supportive services and resource consultations at home or at the Center at the church; Alzheimer's education, individual support and support groups; caregiver education, training and respite services; adaptive medical equipment loans; and much more.
